So Rihanna's collection has hit river island stores and in my opinion it is nothing great. Alot of the clothing are bright neon colours and are casual clothing. They are all very edgy which only certain people like Rihanna herself can pull off. Its a big dissapointment as there was such a big build up to its release. I personally wont be buying from the range but it will be interesting to see how well it does sell. Below are two pictures of some of the collection.

The Parlour Contract
As part of our fashion design module we were asked to design a uniform for the parlour pub in Limerick. They then picked three finalists from our class which were Katie, Rose and Autumn. The parlour then held a fashion show to shocase the designs the girls had made. There was also some finalists from the second year design class. Out of the lot of them there was only to be one winner and that was Rose!!! Above are some pictures of the night including the outfit Rose had designed.
Fashion Photo Shoot
As part of our photography module we had to do a fashion photo shoot. We each had to pick a dress which the second year design class students had made. I picked the pebble stone dress. My model for the shoot was my cousin Chloe. On the day I was the last person to do the shoot and I was a bit nervous but once I started I loved it! I used accesories like sand and a bucket and spade and I also used some tree twigs. The photos came out really well and above are some examples.

Adjustments
As part of our photography class we had to select our ten best images and to use photoshop to do some slight manipulation to them to make them look even better. Below are the results.

(Rule of thirds)
In this photograph I adjusted the contrast to make it brighter and I changed the size of the photograph to remove a hand from the left hand side as it was very distracting.
(Colour)
In this photograph I changed the contrast to make it brighter and I also changed the exposure. I love the way this photograph turned out and its my favourite out of the ten.
(Texture)
In this photograph I changed the size of the photograph to remove a leaf from the bottom of the photograph as it looked out of place and I also changed the exposure.
(Atmospheric)
In this photograph I changed the exposure and I changed the size of the photograph to remove the edge of my neighbours house from the side of the photograph.
(Rule of thirds)
In this photograph I changed the contrast to make the swan stand out more and I also changed the exposure.
(Symmetry)
In this photograph I changed the size of the photograph to remove a wall from the left hand side and I also changed the contrast. I decided to make the photograph a bit darker than it had been as I felt it gave it more feeling.
(Shutter speed)
In this photograph I changed the size of the photograph to remove another person from the right hand side and I also changed the exposure.
(Shutter speed)
In this photograph I changed the exposure and I also changed the contrast to make the orange on the helmet and motorcycle stand out that bit more.
(Depth of field)
In this photograph I changed the size of the photograph to remove a shadow from the left hand side and to remove an unwanted object from the right hand side. I also changed the contrast and exposure.
(Pattern)
In this photograph I changed the size of the photograph to remove rubbish from the bottom of the photograph and I also changed the contrast.

H&M AW12
H&M's AW12 fashion trends are similar to the trends I have picked for my market research report. They include burgundy, green and tweed. H&m is a popular high street fashion store and there are approximately 2700 stores across 48 markets. Germany is their largest market with France, the US and the UK closely following. They opened their first store in Sweeden in 1947. They now employ around 94000 people across the world. They are the number one user of organic cotton worldwide and also help support UNICEF with their all for children collection where 25% of the annual sales price goes to the charity
Gareth Pugh
In design class with Miia, she was telling us about a fashion designer called Gareth Pugh. At 14 he began working as a costume designer for the english national youth theatre. He went on to finish a fashion degree at Central Saint Martins in 2003. He has also interned with Rick Owens in Paris. He was selected to participate in British reality show The Fashion House which he openly admitted he hated. His solo premiere was in London's Fall 2006. British Vogue and celebrities such as Kylie and Lady Gaga are big supporters of his. In 2010 he opened his first fashion boutique in Hong Kong. His designs are quirky but really interesting as his trademark is his experimentation with form and volume
